Folklore of the Sundarbans

This was an attempt to visualize the legends in the folklore 'Johuranama' of The Sundarbans . The two main characters of which are Bon Bibi and Dakshin Rai. Bon Bibi is considered as the 'Guardian Spirit of The Sundarbans.' Though in original stories she is considered to be a Muslim figure, she is venerated by Hindu communities of the Sundarbans as well. Dakshin Rai, on the other hand is a shape-shifting sage. He rules over the demons and beasts of the Sundarbans. The people of Sundarban pray to Bon Bibi to be protected from the wrath of Dakshin Rai.
